Kathmandu, Oct 29: The Nepal Police has reiterated its commitment to citizen by carrying out responsibility and maintaining accountability in line with government's direction.

Issuing a press statement on Thursday, spokesperson of the Nepal Police, Avi Narayan Kafle, requested everyone not to be swayed by the false and baseless news. 

The news stories come in media by connecting it to the Inspector General of Nepal Police, Dan Bahadur Karki, are fabricated and misleading, so there is no point in believing such content, Kafle made it clear in the statement.

The Nepal Police is committed to discharging its constitutional and legal duty without any deviation, he added. Kafle further argued the fabricated news stories had intended to create confusion on Nepal Police's image, professionalism and performance.  

Spokesperson Kafle also warned of forwarding investigation and legal action to those involved in weakening and dragging the security agency to controversy and thinking of acting against government.
